Explosion protection in bulk solids processing

ATEX-compliant filter solutions for potentially explosive atmospheres with pressure relief and decoupling

Explosive dust atmospheres often occur when processing powders, granulates and other flammable substances. Comprehensive explosion protection is essential, especially in processes with high dust concentrations or fine particles - both to protect people and equipment and to comply with legal requirements.

Our ATEX-compliant filter solutions have been specially developed for use in Ex zones. They combine effective dust separation with tested protective measures such as pressure surge resistance, integrated pressure relief (e.g. bursting discs or flameless systems) and effective decoupling of adjacent system parts using non-return flaps, valves or isolation devices.

All systems meet the requirements of the ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU as well as relevant standards such as EN 14491, EN 1127-1 or EN 15089. Whether as a central dust extraction system or decentralised extraction module - our filter solutions can be flexibly integrated into existing safety concepts and guarantee reliable operation even under demanding conditions.

We filter

Typical areas of application in potentially explosive atmospheres

Mixing, sieving and crushing processes:
Safety in the event of heavy dust formation and potential ignition source

Pneumatic conveyor systems:
Safe separation of critical substances

Silo ventilation and silo extraction:
Dedusting when filling with combustible powders

Storage and dosing systems for flammable solids:
Avoiding ignition sources for additives, colourants and plastic powders

Production lines in ATEX zones:
ATEX-compliant filter solutions, pressure shock-resistant and decoupled

Filter systems for hybrid substances:
Safe dedusting for mixed products

The benefits of our filter systems for explosion protection

Plant protection & damage limitation

  • Avoidance of secondary explosions through effective decoupling
